Other titles to be published under the Clandestine Classics collection include Austen’s Northanger Abbey and Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories featuring Sherlock Holmes.”

In Wuthering Heights, heroine Catherine Earnshaw “enjoys bondage sessions” with Heathcliff while sleuth Sherlock Holmes has a sexual relationship with his sidekick Dr Watson

Seems as if missed out on a chance of earning some money here, god knows Johnlock sails itself…

I can’t decide if this is horrifyingly crass or totally awesome. I mean, is it just fanfic for the masses (which I am totally in favor of – spread the good word), or is it messing with literary history in a way that’s just a bit dismissive and belittling?

I mean, I did read those knockoffs like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, so I suppose it’s not any different, and actually now that I think about it, I shouldn’t be surprised at all that we’ve arrived with this current sexy adaptation.

Maybe it was the comparison to Fifty Shades that put me off.

All that said, you know I’m in for the Sherlock treatment. (Though it will probably be mediocre compared to some of the gorgeous writing I’ve seen in this fandom, I’ll read it anyway!)

No. No. Oh, fuck no. *head desk repeatedly*

God. What fuckery is this.

Hahahaha, I love it!

Bah, people take literature too seriously.  You’re not going to damage the reputations of Shakespeare, Jane Austen, or Arthur Conan Doyle.  I mean, let’s face it: if Shakespeare could’ve gotten away with including actual sex scenes in his plays, he would have.

So drop that porn on in there and give us all a good laugh!  (Alternatively, you may feel free to delight and surprise us by actually making it tasteful and well-written.)
