(can he just go back to writing creepy one-shots and let someone else handle metaplot, please?)

STILL TRUE.
I am so infuriated with this latest episode I can’t even.
Yep. RTD sure as hell wasn’t perfect, but I’d take him as a writer and DW showrunner over Moffat any day—BECAUSE HE ACTUALLY KNEW HOW TO TELL A COMPELLING AND EMOTIONALLY ENGAGING AND WELL-THOUGHT-OUT STORY.
Not convinced about RTD being better. His relentless metaplotting drove me mad. But yeah.
I’m just like, “Aaaaaaand then the Doctor flies back to 1939 New York, picks them up and takes them back home. The end.”
Time doesn’t stay where you put it? If they’re 30 or so when they get zapped to New York, then they’ve got a good 50 years when he can go see them anytime he wants to.
This is why I liked it before the twist ending. Because you can’t fix, “It’s been fun and we love you, but we can’t do this anymore.”
