I don’t know. I just do. 🙂 I like the history, and the cultures, and the languages, and the legends. I want to visit, and see all the things I’ve read about, and meet people.
It’s not JUST the UK, really. I think a lot of countries are terribly cool (Russia, for example, is INTENSELY cool, and if you want hardcore history/culture, then China and Iran are the bomb). But 1: since I suck at languages that aren’t English, the UK is one of the more visit-friendly places and 2: there’s also some family history-based interest, since it’s where most of my ancestors hail from.
