I wonder if there would ever be a Arthur Conan Doyle episode in Doctor Who like the one they created for Vincent van Gogh.

Except when the Doctor takes Doyle to modern ages to see the Sherlock Holmes museum he cries for an entirely different reason.

*breaks down cackling*

Poor Doyle would be SO CONFUSED, I think.  He so resented his throwaway character being his most famous creation, but if he stepped 100 years into the future to see how much of an influence Holmes has had, in ways that are far deeper and more pervasive than just a fanbase…  On chemical and forensic sciences, for autism awareness and non-neurotypical people, to say nothing of all the other stories and characters inspired by his stories.  I wonder what Doyle would think, to know how much of a difference his little moneymaker character has made.
