When bidding on an artist, it can seem a little overwhelming, but honestly is very simple.
1: Pick an artist!
You can visit any of the formal LiveJournals for a committee, or you can click directly on an artist’s tag, which you can find a master list of here or here.
I’ve received some questions about this, so here you go. Go bid and I hope you’ll get the art you want <3
Oh, awesome! If any of you are interested in participating in the fundraiser art auction next week (OH MY GOD THE LIST OF AMAZING ARTISTS JUST KEEPS GETTING LONGER), here’s a good how-to guide!
If you don’t know what I’m talking about: it’s the Sherlock/Holmes fandom art auction, April 7-13, to fundraise for Tumblcon USA! Recent artists to announce their offer of commissions or art for auction include ivorylungs, reapersun, jujuproblems, and khorazir.
And keep an eye out for similarly crazy art auctions through the next few weeks for Supernatural, Teen Wolf, Doctor Who, Star Trek (THIS WEEK), and Tolkien fandoms!
Also worth noting is that many artists (Including me) are offering commissions which can extend beyond the fandom itself. For example, marijemadness is offering a portrait art commission of ANY person you wish, whether they be fictional, famous or family. And I’m just as happy to do art of your OCs for original fiction as I am to do fanart.
