Hungary is now a totalitarian state largely run by neo-Nazis.
Rromani & Jews have been screaming their lungs out over the last two years.Canada & W. European countries have been repatriating Rromani refugees back to Hungary over the last several years.
They said it’s “not that bad”. They said our lives weren’t in any “real danger”.We saw this coming.. now, it’s too late.

Only a few days ago, prime minister Viktor Orban officially decorated three extreme right-wing leading figures: journalist Ferenc Szaniszlo, known for his diatribes against the Jews and the Roma people, who he compares to “monkeys”; anti-Semitic archaeologist Kornel Bakav, who blames the Jews for having organized the slave trade in the Middle-Age; finally, “artist” Petras Janos, who proudly claims his proximity to the Jobbik and its paramilitary militia, responsible for several racist murders of Romani people and heiress of the pro-Nazi Arrow Cross Party, that organised the extermination of Jews and Gypsies during the Second World War.”
THIS IS FUCKING TERRIFYING. Especially because the Jews and Roma are considered difference races, particularly in central and eastern Europe. So read that last sentence again in second paragraph. I mean, there’s a million and one things wrong with it, not even accounting for the horrors in the third one. But…

Basically, Jews and Roma can now be murdered in a Hungary run by Neo-Nazis. Without consequence. It’s as legal as genocide can be.

If any single one of you USA-centric fuckers comes at me trying to tell me that me and mine, that the Jews – or the Rromani – don’t suffer racist, horrific oppression, I will point you to this and remind you that Hungary is not the only country like this.
Ukraine and Greece are doing their damndest to catch up, and many countries in central Europe especially (France, anyone?) has a long history of turning the blind eye towards hate crimes, including murder, of Rromani and Jews.
But, of course, the Holocaust was an isolated event with no present-day relevance or repercussions, right?

Please, PLEASE read this. I know a woman who used to live in Budapest, her whole family still lives there and she can confirm this. She has frequently told us how awful the country has gotten in regards to human rights and bigotry, if not outright violence.
In WWII, the phrase was, “Never again”. USA, please do not sit idly by while this happens AGAIN. I think the only thing to do is to try and contact your UN representative and urge them to take action on this.
Also, a message to W. European and Canada officials: Fuck you. Way to go, just fuck you, you rat-fink motherfuckers.

I am ethnically Hungarian Romani. My grandparents got the hell out of there for a reason. I wasn’t raised with the language of my ancestors because it had been criminalized. Reblog this. It needs to be heard. Hungarian newspapers are calling for a final solution to the ‘Romani problem.’
It’s so easy to tell ourselves we’re more enlightened, now. But it takes so little and we find ourselves back there again. I’ve heard NOTHING about this. No news covers it, no one talks about it. The VERY LEAST we can do is not perpetuate the silence.
