I have a question. It’s relevant to something I promise, but I need other opinions. Question: Whether it be aftershave, soap, cologne, sweat, gunpowder or blood; what does James Bonds skin smell like?

There is an indescribable constant note that is Bond,…

Alright. I went a little broad spectrum there. Think Roane’s Desert Heat Bond. Something along the lines of shaving soap or aftershave. I love sandalwood, but as a sexy, manly scent, it’s a bit overplayed. What about a citrusy lime? Or bay rum? I LOVE teakwood, but not many people know that smell, or realize they know it.

So I’ll repose the question. After a shower (by himself mind you!), what does James Bond smell like?

It is a little-known fact that raindrop is actually a hired assassin, because someone MUST be paying her to kill me.

I can smell the scent I’m thinking of, but damned if I can think of how to describe it. Citrus-y is definitely part of it.

Fresh out of the shower, I suspect he smells of old leather, bergamot, and oak curing casks.  I think the bergamot and leather are probably aftershave or cologne, but the oak casks are just what his sweat smells like.  (Traces of old alcohol, metal, and that earthy, rosiny scent that old wood takes on and that some people seem to develop.)

In his daily routine, he’s likely to also pick up the scent of gun metal, cleaning oil, and the somewhat acrid trace of gunshot residue.

Oh, and tobacco, of course.  He undoubtedly smells like a smoker.  Weirdly, with the mix of other scents, it almost works for him.
