What I really want to know is what difference anybody thinks it makes to begin with. If there are any fake geek girls at a con, they paid the admission price, the same as everybody else. Which as it turns out is the sole requirement for being there.
I once saw a guy in a comic shop try to haze a teenaged girl with the Fake Geek Girl challenge. She looked at him with the special contempt that teenagers can muster, snorted, “Dude, like I care?” and went and paid for her Rurouni Kenshin manga.
He looked so dejected that I decided on the spot that that would be my answer if any of those asshats ever tried it on with me.
