So some people whose opinions I really valued had some less than nice things to say about omegaverse earlier today. Out of sheer spite, have some Pyrexia-verse porn. My hurt is your gain! Under a cut cause it’s kinda smutty.

I’m sorry, sweetie! Omega-verse is not something that particularly appeals to me, but you know what? Who cares!? Lots of people love it and read it and write it and draw it, and that is fucking fantastic. More power to them!

Fandom is all about celebrating the things we love, IMNSHO. *hugs*

Thank you *hugs*

I totally get that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, and I’m not expecting people who know they don’t like it to read it. It honestly wasn’t something I’d ever intended to write, but the idea of an intersex character in the construct of the universe really appealed to me, and my brain wouldn’t drop the idea, so I gave it a shot.

I think what really upset me earlier was that there was this sort of underlying mentality of “people who write that shit are weird and have issues”, and meanwhile I’m writing it in part to explore bullshit gender constructs and societal judgements, but there’s just this “nope ew it’s all creepy mpreg and anyone who writes it is a weirdo” undercurrent.

I’m also just feeling incredibly fragile and useless right now and kind of hate everything I’m doing and feel like everyone else hates it too, even though I know that isn’t the case.

Like, ugh, I’m tearing up just writing this. I think I need to just log off for a bit.

BAH to those people.

It’s pretty judgey for somebody in fandom, surrounded by erotic fanfiction where sex co-exists with deeply thoughtful characterization and plotting, and act like THIS particular kink has no possible redeeming qualities and can’t possibly be more than just mindless porn.

It’s also pretty judgey to turn their nose up at mindless porn, just because it’s not their personal kink.  Mpreg and omegaverse aren’t any weirder than half the things that go around.

That said, Pyrexia is one of my favorite omegaverse series, and the parts that aren’t (scintillatingly hot) sex are my favorite parts.  There’s precious little fanfic, especially of this quality, that addresses intersex or genderqueerness at all, let alone giving it enough respect to imagine it into an AU.
