Otherwise known as the fic in which the ultimate old girls’ network demonstrates their ability to rule the world. FANDOM HUNT: can you spot all twenty canons included in this?
——-
This fic show us what happens when a writer is having fun in multiple fandoms! Here, author trace of scarlet just lets loose with the creativity, giving us a chance to peek into a magnificent universe created by mixing together 20 canons where Women are finally featured predominately and running the show. I just want to adopt this as a whole new headcanon.
Mrs Hudson is the main character here, in that she is the one who calls her friends and contacts and who organises everything. This Mrs Hudson is magnificent, her actions hint back to a marvelous backstory, and at the measure of this beloved character of the Sherlock series.
There are cameos from Minerva Mcgonagall, no nonsense school Headmistress of a magical school, and Victoria, a former sniper who still takes some contracts because boredom can be such a hassle when one is finally retired.
“Oh, my Sherlock’s a lovely boy, really,” Martha said placidly, adding a lump of white sugar to her tea and stirring. “He just wants a bit of looking after – and he’d do the same for me, I know.”
She thought back again to the almost-scandal, and Sherlock throwing that utterly unpleasant bastard out of her window over and over again with a face like the devil in stone.
“And Doctor Watson’s such a sweet boy. Besides, ladies, you can’t possibly tell me you aren’t enjoying all this.”
“No-one’s found the, er, courage to take a pot-shot at me in years,” Minerva said, looking nostalgic. “I seem to have acquired rather too much reputation for it – and yet I’m certain I was followed by at least two men and one woman on my way here. It was quite like old times, really.”
This feels like a dessert, where one does already know and like most of the individual ingredients, but still ends up in awe of the finished product.
Then sprinkle on it a bit of MI-6 and American co-operation and really, it’s not called the old girls’ network for no reason!
The characterization of all these character is marvelously done, and I had a grand time reading this (was even cackling madly at times). I predict you will love it.
I rec it.
THIS SOUNDS AMAZING. I haven’t read this yet, but if you’re wasting away for the want of fanfic that doesn’t read the same as all the other fanfic you’ve read, I suspect trace_of_scarlet has your treatment for that right here. ^_^
