Do you think there is any chance Mary is faking the pregnancy? Sherlock wasn’t exactly on top of his game in S3 – making wrong deductions time and again. (Appledore vaults being the most obvious.) But what if Mary is playing at pregnancy, just as she played at normalcy? It could be the least long-term emotionally damaging for John. Yet, I do feel bad for Mary. She deserves someone who loves and marries her without being tricked. Maybe it could have been John, but she never gave him the chance.

The thing I don’t understand is, why the baby/pregnancy? To give Mary a motive for going after CAM, maybe, but isn’t putting John in a bonfire enough? And her pregnancy immediately makes her vulnerable, so they can ignore her background and make her a victim. But then why go through the trouble of making us feel conflicted about her with a half-baked redemption if we’re supposed to ultimately sympathize with her? Do you have any speculations about the purpose of the baby/pregnancy?

For John/Mary endgame, would it be truly that impossible? I know Johnlock shippers are pretty biased towards her, but if you think back to the first two seasons Sherlock also did his portion of lying, manipulating, and almost leaning towards abusive (like poisoning John). And John doesn’t really know Sherlock’s past either. So what if she doesn’t work secretly for Moriarty (like in many headcannons) and is really basically a female version of Sherlock, who loves and understands John?
