I think it depends on the context and degree of violence/jealousy? Like extreme internal jealousy is fine but jealousy that draws literal blood can be a bit… I generally enjoy jealousy in fic as long as nobody gets hurt and it’s not overdone.
I wasn’t talking about fic. I meant posts by fans reveling in the idea that a member of their OTP would threaten, plan or enact violence on either their partner or someone flirting with/propositioning their partner.
I see these come across my dash every so often and they just creep me out. XD I mean, I assume the people posting them do know the difference between fiction and real life and that they don’t think this kind of behavior would be hot in an actual real-life relationship. But barren of context as they are, those posts get a bit freaky to me after a while (particularly when I see it for an RPF pairing—that is kind of, wow no).
