note thorin smiling in the 2nd gif and thorins profile slipping lower and lower out of shot as the scene goes on and he takes his last breaths (・∀・ )
another thing to note: if you look at Thorin’s eye movements on the 2nd gif, he was first looking at Bilbo’s mouth— maybe because the pain was becoming too much for him and he wasn’t sure if he was hearing Bilbo’s words correctly, so he was also watching the words form on his burglar’s mouth… and then he looks up at his eyes and smiles at him becaues he is happy that the world will still have someone as loyal, kind, and as brave as this child of the kindly west, as he departs from middle earth.
My problem with this post is that I can’t look away from Bilbo’s poor adorable face long enough to study Thorin here…
