OMG, D’argo forcefeeding Rygel is one of the most messed-up things in the entire series. I always forget about how borderline traumatic that bit is.
So full disclosure: I started at “Nerve” at the end of S1. Because while it’s pretty cool to watch things come together through the first season, it’s Scorpius’s first appearance on screen when you realize with a little thrill that Something Is Happening.
But after they get away from him, they’re all so tight. Like, there are these little romances and foibles going on on board, but so much more important than that is that these people have become family. They love each other, they rely on each other, they watch each other’s backs and just flat-out enjoy each other’s company. There’s unself-conscious physical comfort. It’s like a giant four-year-long H/C AU fic of your favorite other fandom WITH MUPPETS and amazing writing. God, no wonder I loved it so much.
