Freddie is such a glorious bitch. ^_^
I feel like I can probably understand where she comes from. Her melodramatic outfits, her abrasively aggressive attitude, her blatant attention-whore yellow journalism. This is a woman who’s fought tooth and nail her entire life for her voice to be heard, to the point where she reached for cheap theatrics and manipulation to force people to see and hear her. But saying that sounds like a dismissal of her, when really it’s an acknowledgement of just how hard she’s had to be, how far she’s had to be willing to go, simply in order to be herself and do her job.
I feel like this is why she takes up Abigail’s case. She sees another woman being silenced and scapegoated.
I like to think it’s also why she goes after Will Graham so hard. After all, as far as she can see: there he is, another overly clever rude white guy, cozying up to people in power and getting away with murder.
I’m so glad she goes from somebody you kind of want to throw a stick at to someone you find yourself cheering on.
