I finally saw it so now as the holder of a social media account I’m contractually obligated to write a post about it.

I’ve got no beefs with a comicbook superhero movie that chooses to be no more than “Let’s take our awesome hair over there to punch the bad guy in the face, blow some stuff up and go home.”  That’s a valid choice.  Superhero comics spend vast amounts of time being that.

But this one has such a long list of plot threads it picked up and then abandoned that it could practically be its own prompts meme.  Just…look, guys.  You don’t break out the ‘deepest darkest fears’ mojo and then have the characters summarize how it made them feel.

I feel like maybe we’ve finally entered a state where movies and fanfic exist in a symbiotic relationship–not just that one is made better by the other, but that they actively need each other in order to survive.

I also never expected to see the day when a movie tried too hard to insert slash fodder.  Truly we live in a brave new world.
