That headline is not clickbait. Hackers have figured out how to infiltrate vehicles and take total control. GPS, locks, power steering, brakes, transmission, power to the engine. And they can be halfway around the planet while doing it.

The race begins to protect our increasingly connected, computerized automobiles from criminals who can not only brick a two-ton object you’re paying a year’s salary to own, but kill people while doing it.

Keep an eye on your car’s manufacturer. Learn whether your car is vulnerable, and if they release patches, make sure they get installed.
