Because you know what TOTALLY SUCKS? Grieving for someone you love while having to deal with months of paperwork, research and debate about what to do with their earthly belongings, debts and assets.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t have any assets or property. If you don’t have a will, they’re still going to have to go through all this shit anyway, just so that they can prove you don’t.
Also? SIGN THE FUCKING BENEFICIARY FORMS.
