Agent Washington was completely indispensable.
He was the jack of all trades, skilled in every single area, proficient in every single category to the point where if someone were to be injured or killed he could easily replace them.Everyone else had a specialty, but if they could no longer perform in the field they’d be knocked below Wash on the leaderboard immediately.
Good thing he was a chill enough guy back then. Anyone else with a skill set like his in Freelancer would have eventually started taking out the competition to up their own value.
Washington had combat leadership experience. I’m not sure whether the other members of the squad did, besides Carolina.
He was an Army corporal, and since the UNSC Army uses fireteams, and Wash’s primary skill set was rifleman, that means he was probably the leader of one. This’d be why we sometimes saw him taking the lead with York in firefights, even though York consistently outranked him on the leaderboard.
He was also apparently the squad’s backup security specialist, since Carolina put him on lock duty while York was laid up.
Then again, if UNSC special ops is anything like special ops in the modern military, they probably were big believers in cross-training. It’s sloppy to get stranded on a mission just because you don’t have the skill set you need on hand.
