He glanced at the plant across from him, to be delivered.
Ana needed something new for her place.
He couldn’t say no to her, even after all these years.
“It’d be nice to see you again,” she had laughed over the holo call. “Haven’t heard from you in a while, it’s about time you dropped by.”
The waitress came with the bill, he left a generous tip, hauled the potted plant under his arm, pulled up the collar of his jacket and pushed back into the sea of people with bulbs buzzing overhead.
