Jack wasn’t sure what that meant when they strapped him to the table and pumped the black ichor into his veins, but when he turned to Gabe next to him he saw him writhe in agony, his flesh melting off his bones, he stared in horror as he realised what it might entail.

The the creature that resulted with their union was beast, a monster, a greater sum of their parts. Jack could feel the symbiote in every crevice, and every orifice, filling him up whole, making him powerful. They had become a new organism, Gabriel and him, forever entwined, and they would never separate them ever again.

A weapon is meant to be stowed away until it is needed, especially one so deadly. It resisted, obviously, but despite it’s protests and struggles it was deactivated, placed in stasis and stowed away in a secure container. For now the weapon would remain, the symbiote and the host, together even slumber, never to be parted.
