In the midst of all the purging panic, I was alerted to a very important issue. It was a very real possibility that @spockslash, the blog of our late fandom grandma would be lost to us forever. So I archived the blog, every post. As it was today (12/3/18).

You can find the archive page here.

As of this morning, I have also archived @earlytrekfandom, which was Dee’s side blog for fandom history, which can be found here.

I’ve learned from the purges of the past. We might be about to loose our fandom home, but we’ll find a new one. And with links like the two above this time we won’t loose our history.

A round of applause for my buddy who knows how to do all the computer things I can’t, and a reminder to try and save blogs that no longer have a user! History is important, and not just in fandom— if you can think of any queer blogs or aciviet blogs that need to be saved (Leela Alcorn’s comes to mind if it’s still around). Save it ALL. We can’t let these things be erased!

Holy shit, I forgot about Leela Alcorn.

Her original blog was deleted by her parents shortly after her suicide, but fortunately some other kind soul had already done the hard work of replicating her blog before the deletion. Said replica is @thelazerprincessarchives-blog, which I have now saved here.

(I will make a separate post for Leela for those who want the link without the fandom stuff attached.)

God bless you a thousand times.
