It’s being reported on the Entertainment Weekly website Sherlock S3 production is being pushed back until March 2013! You can read the article here.

We’re trying to find out more info.

WAAAAAAAAH.

My stomach hurts. This picture’s appropriate, though; Sherlock looks like “Now, don’t get so upset. Don’t be punching me,” and John’s all, “Yeah, I’m disgusted too.”

Ugh.  But considering they weren’t going to start filming till January, I was assuming late 2013 anyway.

It makes me worry, though.  Never mind the ‘bow’ thing—Moffat’s too much a troll to trust anything that comes out of his mouth—but a while back, Laura Pulver called series 3 ‘the final series’ when replying to a fan’s question at a panel.  I know everybody who works on the show says they love it and they’re very proud of it and they’d happily keep doing it forever, but it seems reasonable to suppose they might’ve decided that the difficulties of scheduling around Ben’s and Martin’s other work were getting to be too much and they’d have to wrap things up.

Which is just my own speculation, mind.  We’ll have to wait and see (for quite a while, apparently).  Anyway, every show has to end sometime.  But god, I would give an awful lot for at least four seasons.  Plot isn’t so much an issue, but there is a character arc going, and my instincts say that it wants four seasons to really round it out.

*sigh*  Just as I love all the incarnations of the Doctor, I love all the incarnations of Holmes and Watson.  But it’s always hard to let go of the ones who especially seat themselves in your heart.  While I adore Ben’s Sherlock, he’s got some stiff competition from Mr. Brett, but in particular Martin’s Watson has, I fear, become MY Watson.
