Snogandgrope asked for 10, 11, or 13.  10 is truth or dare (I wonder why everybody’s so keen on truth or dare?), so since I already did that…

11:  Historical AU

Hmmmmm.  If I did a historical AU, it might have to be that pirate one that roane keeps teasing us with.

I think probably Captain Sherlock Holmes is a privateer sailing under a marque from the English Crown.  How does he come to take Dr. John Watson of Her Majesty’s Navy as a captive?  Good question…  Perhaps John was taken as a prisoner of war on an enemy vessel?  Or maybe he’s been disgraced…  Yeah, I like that.  He was disgraced and…framed as an enemy spy.  He finds himself pressed, perhaps, onto Sherlock’s ship, or maybe Sherlock specifically seeks him out and takes him captive on Mycroft’s request (still playing spymaster) on his way to solving the case in which John has been embroiled.

Along the way, of course, John finds himself serving as doctor for Sherlock and his crew—and a fine doctor he is, as well as a stalwart companion in danger and a remarkably intriguing man.  Sherlock begins to think he’d prefer not to release the good fellow back to the Admiralty once he’s done with this adventure.

John, meanwhile, is finding his loyalty increasingly torn between the nation he is sworn to serve and this band of colorful rogues in their adventuresome life, not to mention their fascinating captain…

13: Apocalypse fic

Hmmmm.  Not zombies, because I hate zombies.  …To be honest, when I think apocalypse fic, I think trillsabells’ The Prize, which I enjoyed so much and did so many things I always wish for in an apocalypse fic that I have a hard time imagining an apocalypse fic that wouldn’t basically be ripping that one off.  So…yeah, you could just go read that one.  Darkling, I Listen is another rather phenomenal and very creative one that makes me feel like I could only do a hack job.

Yeah, in the face of those, I don’t feel qualified to come up with anything remotely worthwhile for an apocalypse fic.
