You know, I have to admit that I feel like this movie series is fucking with us. It starts with Watson’s engagement, while presenting us with this extremely close and established relationship between these two that, you know, is essentially already over in its present form.
On the one hand, it amuses me because it’s such a trollish thing for them to do. But on the other, it actually does bother me a bit. It feels kind of dismissive. Though on the other other hand (careful, this is turning into a tentacle-fic), it’s narratively a really interesting and different place to start the story.
But it still bugs me.
