I had so much frigging trouble with this chapter. I started it around Christmas, and the story and I proceeded to have a series of disagreements about what should be happening and how John should be dealing with it. John wasn’t much help either. When your POV character is avoiding his ~feelings,~ it can be really damn hard to figure out what’s going on in his head.
Also, the thing where I finished my master’s degree ate up a surprising amount of time.
It’s a long bastard: over 6000 words, which almost doubles the length of the story so far. So…I hope that makes up for some of the wait.
