For that matter, VOTE IN THE 2017 ELECTIONS. We have elections in the US EVERY year. On odd years it’s mostly local and regional positions and initiatives, but there are also state and federal elections here and there to fill in for resignations and so forth.
The US Senate right now would flip if just THREE seats changed party hands. And state governors STILL have a lot of power to influence things at both a state and federal level. With the country running this hot, even mayors in major metropolitan centers will have an important role to play, and lots of them are up for election this year, including New York, Los Angeles, Seattle and more.
So pay attention to what’s going on in your electoral district!
