Of all the shots of them together, THIS is possibly the one I like most. Why? I’m pretty sure you all can tell me better, frankly, but at this point the inside of Sherlock’s head feels like the only thing I CAN trust, so maybe that’s it…

If John is the case Sherlock needs to solve and it’s the scene with Anderson that comes up in the train scene when he’s going to apologize, then maybe that’s their way of showing us that he’s going to take Anderson’s route to get John back. Anderson staged a crime scene to get Sherlock’s attention; he was flashy. Sherlock was, too, so he could get John’s attention.
