Somebody give this guy an award!

capo.

Done like a pro.

The thing about a same-sex couple is that they have to really WANT a child.  They don’t come by them accidentally, and given the amount of crap they have to go through in order to raise a child, they have to have enough love for that kid to make it worth putting up with a lot of hell from society at large.

So I suspect that what that study was seeing was the average performance of children who come from homes where they’re mostly loved and wanted, compared with the average from the spectrum of ‘loved’ to ‘abused’ you find in hetero familiies.

Also, here’s some ammo for you the next time a Christian brings up Leviticus and the Thou Shalt Nots:  in the New Testament, Jesus states that he is the embodiment of a new covenant (Luke 22:20, if you want to show off), and thus the old covenant (aka all the rules laid out in the Old Testament) is broken.  This is a founding principle of Christianity, held especially dear by Protestant Christians for whom it serves as the basis of the entire “All you have to do is accept Jesus as your Savior” core of the faith.

So according to the Bible itself, it doesn’t actually MATTER what Leviticus says, unless it got reiterated somewhere in the New Testament.

(Catholics and Orthodox are a bit different, as they accept not only the Bible, but also an entire body of religious, scholarly, and philosophical writings that form the basis of their doctrines.)
