So I don’t actually have a specific question, but I’m very curious about your art, and your process. I don’t actually know anything about drawing or painting, so. In return I’ll tell you that my own artistic ability is pretty much fully represented by my little cloud…
So yes, that was basically what I was asking. Thank you for writing it all out for me! I’m definitely unfamiliar with the steps involved here, so it’s sort of fascinating to me. The second style you mentioned sounds a bit more spontaneous, less planned? (Or do you still use the stick thing with that?) Is that challenging what with the perfectionist thing? Sorry for all the random questions, I guess I owe you more facts now? What would you like to know?
Exactly, the second style requires me to wing it a lot more. That’s why I started using it, actually. It’s a lot like fingerpainting. (In fact, if you’re using real charcoal, chalk or pastels on real paper, sometimes you do end up smearing it around with your hands, or a twisted up bit of tissue paper or something. SO MUCH FUN. But messy, and I do not own the carpets in this apartment.) With media like that, you pretty much have no option but to do a certain amount of scrawling and smearing and running with whatever comes out of it. It’s good for me. ^_^ Forces me to shake out of the finicky perfectionist thing.
Maybe next time I’ll do a pic, I’ll take some WIP screencaps so you can see. 🙂
